Special Olympics

The Special Olympics World Winter Games was an international event held in Toronto and Collingwood in 1997. It was the largest sporting event to be held in the world in 1997.

The challenge presented was to design the sets, props, costumes, and lighting for the opening and closing ceremonies of the games while working under strict budgetary limitations, and a crushing event schedule in Toronto’s Skydome where the event was to be held.
